The Essential Morning Coffee Cup
No morning is complete (or even real) without a hot cup of coffee. I got this amazing Corksicle mug as a gift and I haven’t gone a day without it. The mug keeps my coffee hot for 3 hours – perfect when catering to the needs of two tiny people in the mornings. And it does double-duty in the hot summer months, keeping drinks cold for 9 hours. It sounds a little cliche, but this mug also fits perfectly into my car’s cupholders so I don’t have to worry about spills.
Aromatherapy for the Best Morning
Scent is one of the most powerful senses, with the potential to bring back childhood memories, and even relax and soothe the mind. I discovered the power of essential oils a few years ago but didn’t start using them until I was pregnant with my first child and wanted to cut down on harmful fragrances and ingredients in my home. There are certain oils that I diffuse at night, or when I’m feeling under the weather, but the most important oils I’ve found for my mornings are orange and lemon. The right diffuser can make a beautiful statement while filling your home or office with energizing citrus.
The Vitamin Boost Every Morning Person Needs
Gone are the days when a Flintstone multivitamin will do the trick for me. I make extreme demands of my body, and therefore make it a point to take the best care of it while I can. B12 supplements to help with my energy demands and fight fatigue. The quick dissolve supplements are fast and easy, but there are different varieties available.
Podcasts for a Better Morning
Multitasking is key to making my mornings work for me. Podcasts help me do that while getting ready. There are several different podcasts that help to get me in the right mindset for the day, it just depends on what I need on any particular morning.
On mornings when I need the Word, I’ll tune into Joyce Meyer. She is straightforward and energized, always leaving me with something to think about. The episodes are perfectly timed for my solo time in the morning when I can get ready in peace.

I also like The Purpose Show with Allie Casazza. She helps put the whole stay-at-home / work-from-home mom struggle into perspective and makes everyday life a little easier.

The Weekly Prayer Project challenges you to tackle a new scripture and subject every week. It gives writing prompts that encourage you to pray and reflect on your life and your relationship with God. This book helped me to get comfortable with journaling again, without being too demanding. If you’re struggling to get started, I recommend this book to give you the push you need to begin journaling.
The Patchwork Devotional is a daily devotional that breaks scriptures and inspirational stories down into bite-sized portions – perfect for digesting while eating breakfast on busy mornings.
Jumpstart Your Morning Routine with a Silk Scrunchie
Scrunchie used to be a bad word, but as I’ve come to learn more about treating my curly hair with love, scrunchies have become irreplaceable, silk ones in particular. I can set myself up for a better hair day in the morning by using my silk scrunchies at night to ‘pineapple’ my hair and preserve my curls. In the mornings, I just take the scrunchie out, fluff my hair, smooth my edges and I’m good to go.
Morning Hack: Prepare at Night with a Lip Mask
One of the worst things that can happen to you is waking up with crusty lips. Your chapstick gets caught on your lips, and lipgloss and lipstick can look chunky instead of smooth when applied. I try to work against that by applying a lip mask at bedtime, so I wake up with soft, smooth lips. Vaseline will do the trick, but lip masks are designed to taste and feel great without leaving your lips feeling greasy.
Jumpstart Your Morning with Coffee
Who says you just have to drink your coffee? If you have the time to make your morning shower special, I suggest grabbing a coffee body scrub to energize your body until you can take that first sip of coffee. Exfoliating already comes with a host of benefits for your skin – give it an extra shot by choosing one that contains coffee beans.
What are some products you can’t live without to make your morning run as smoothly as possible?
